In order to register for many alternate Scholars Forum events, you will utilize the NC State Guide app (available at https://guidebook.com/app/NCStateGuides/). You will receive an email invitation to join the Scholars Forum Guide at the beginning of the semester. Within the app you will have access to the entire Scholars Forum schedule and have the ability to register for events that have limited spaces available.
Please note that registration for alternate Scholars Forum events opens three weeks in advance of the event date. Within the Scholars Forum Guide app, each event that requires registration will indicate the date on which registration becomes available.
If you register for an alternate Scholars Forum event but find that you cannot attend the event, you must go into the Guide App and cancel your spot in the event at least 72 hours in advance. If it is found that miss multiple events that require registration, or if you are a “no-show” for events that require registration, your registration abilities may be revoked after 2 instances.
At each Scholars Forum event that you attend, you will be asked to present your personal NC State Guide app QR code on your phone or tablet. In this way the staff of the UHSP will verify your attendance at Scholars Forum events. if your QR code is not scanned, you will not be counted as attending the event. Once attendance for each event is processed it receives a letter code that is listed in the WolfWare (Moodle) for USP 110/111. You may see the entire Forum Code list there in order to check your attendance record. We urge students to keep track of the events they attend and to periodically check the WolfWare Grade Book to ensure that credit for events is posted. If you notice that an event you attended is not listed on Wolfware, please complete the Scholars Forum Attendance Questions form and a member of the UHSP staff will get back to you within 2 business days.
Please note it can take up to 7 business days for events to be posted in the Grade Book.
